Which government offices in Pahrump are closed on Nevada Day?

Nye County officials are informing residents today of the closure of city government offices and courts in observance of Nevada Day.

As stated in the press release, Public Communications Manager Arnold Knightly noted that all county and city government offices and courts will remain closed on Friday, October 25th.

Knightly also said that the emergency service’s administrative offices will also be closed, but on-site operations will continue as usual.

Regular office hours will resume starting Monday, October 28th.

“The Nye County Animal Shelter will also remain closed but will reopen for regular business hours at 10 a.m. Saturday,” the release said. “Animal Control can be reached at 775-751-6315 on holidays and weekends.”

The press release continued that early voting will still be available Friday at the Bob Ruud Community Center in Pahrump and the county clerk’s office in Tonopah.

Nevada Day pays homage to the state’s founding on October 31, 1864. The state legislature established the date as a state holiday in 1933. The Nevada Day celebration was moved to the last Friday in October in 2000 to allow for a three-day weekend.
