A$AP Rocky’s legal troubles continue to mount as the Harlem rapper’s criminal trial, originally scheduled for this month, has now been postponed until January. This week, a Los Angeles judge agreed to postpone the trial involving Rocky’s alleged attack on his former friend and A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli after his legal team secured an earlier commitment to a concert in Bangkok , Thailand. This is the third postponement of the trial, which is expected to last seven to 10 days once it begins.

In a moment that caught the attention of those in court, LA Superior Court Judge Mark Arnold turned to Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, and asked if Rocky’s partner, Rihanna, would be there to support him. The judge referred to the superstar as “the mother of (Rocky’s) two children” and warmly invited: “If she wants to come, she can come.” Tacopina replied that although he did not know whether Rihanna would be present, it was possible that she would be present at the beginning, although it was unlikely that she would remain throughout the trial.

The trial’s delay adds another chapter to Rocky’s ongoing legal battle, which has attracted widespread media attention due to his and Rihanna’s high profile. Rocky, who is facing charges for allegedly firing a gun at Relli during an argument, continues to perform internationally and strives to balance his legal obligations with his career. With Rihanna’s possible presence in the courtroom, public interest in the trial is bound to continue to grow.
