Fantasy Football Start em, Sit em: Hunter Henry, Christian Watson, Tyler Lockett (Week 8)

Start or set? Starting or seating decisions in fantasy football can be agonizing. While it feels great to make the right decision and achieve fantasy glory, it hurts just as much when someone throws a tantrum on the bench. You can use our “Who should I start with?” Tool to help you get advice from fantasy football experts as you make your lineup decisions. And you can also sync your fantasy football league for free with our My Playbook tool for customized advice, rankings and analysis.

Let’s take a look at some polarizing players and the advice of fantasy football expert Derek Brown. And for all of DBro’s fantasy football prospects, check out this week’s Fantasy Football Primer.

Fantasy football starting and sit-em lineup tips

Hunter Henry (TE)

Henry is the TE10 in fantasy points per game, ranks fifth in deep targets, and fourth in the red zone at the position. He has a target share of 16.4%, a YPRR of 1.66 and a first read share of 16.3%. The Jets are 16th in yards per reception allowed to tight ends. Henry should flirt with TE1 again this week.

Christian Watson (WR)

Last week, Watson had a route share of 44.4% and only a target share of 6.1%, but I expect those numbers to increase this week with the upcoming matchup. Since Week 3, Jacksonville has the fourth-highest two-high rate (55.1%) in the NFL. Against two highs, Watson ranks fourth on the team in TPRR (19%) but leads the team in YPRR (2.91) and FD/RR (.125). If Watson ever had a week to post a meaningful stat, it would be Week 8. Jacksonville has allowed the seventh-most PPR points per target and the second-most receiving yards per game to perimeter wide receivers.

Tyler Lockett (WR)

Lockett is the WR41 in fantasy points per game with two WR2 weeks in weekly fantasy scoring this season (WR22, WR18). Lockett has seen an uptick in his red zone usage of late, scoring five times inside the 20-yard line in his last four games. He has a target share of 14.6%, a YPRR of 1.69 and a first read share of 18.6%. Lockett is best left on the bench this week. Buffalo has held perimeter wide receivers in check with the third-fewest receiving yards per game and the eighth-fewest PPR points per target allowed.
