Midwest Machinery opens new facility in Madison, Minn. after fire – West Central Tribune

MADISON – Midwest Machinery is opening a new 60,000-square-foot facility at a new location east of Madison to replace the building destroyed in a fire on March 21, 2023.

It was an 18-month project to rebuild the John Deere dealership in the Madison area.

According to a news release from Midwest Machinery, the remodeled, one-story building features a state-of-the-art service workshop, a fully equipped parts area, offices and a showroom.

“We have suffered a significant loss, but the resilience of our community has made this challenge remarkable,” said Jamie Borstad, site manager for Midwest Machinery.

“We are deeply grateful to our customers, employees and community members for their patience and support over the past year and a half. It is an honor to be part of such a strong community,” added Borstad.

Construction of the new car dealership began over a year ago.

“Our new facility is designed to help our team better meet the needs of our customers,” said Ron Reitmeier, CEO and president of Midwest Machinery. “The additional space and improved equipment will allow us to provide more timely service and support throughout the year.”

After the March 2023 fire at the facility on the east side of the city, Midwest Machinery moved operations to a leased facility in the city to continue providing services to its customers.

More than 100 personnel from 25 different fire departments and other agencies in the area battled the blaze, which destroyed the original facility and most of its contents.

Friday, November 1st at 9:30 a.m. at 2390 241st Ave. A grand opening ceremony for the new facility was held east of Madison.

Our newsroom occasionally reports under the headline “West Central Tribune Staff Report.” Often the title “West Central Tribune Staff Report” is used when rewriting basic news stories that come from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and that require little or no reporting. Sometimes this byline is used when a news story includes multiple authors or when the story is created by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, this will be noted in the story.
