NIU announces basketball schedules and action plans

DEKALB, Ill. – Northern Illinois University Athletics has announced tip times and action plans for the upcoming 2024-25 men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

As previously announced, NIU women’s basketball’s regular season home opener against Louisiana will be the Huskies’ annual Education Day game, beginning at 11:00 a.m. All remaining weekday games will be at 6:00 p.m., with weekend contests scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. Idaho State tips off on Friday, December 20, also at 1 p.m

The Huskie men’s basketball team will also compete during the week at a family-friendly start time of 6 p.m. NIU men’s basketball weekend games begin at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. during NIU’s three doubleheaders this season (Jan. 25, Feb. 25). March 22nd and 1st).

NIU Athletics will continue its 125th anniversary celebration at the Jan. 25 doubleheader, which will also be Alumni Day for the Huskie men’s and women’s basketball programs. The ever-popular Cram the Convo will take place on February 22nd during the Eastern Michigan doubleheader.

The Huskie men’s and women’s basketball programs will host Hometown Heroes on Sunday, November 10th in the women’s basketball game against St. Thomas and on Tuesday, November 12th in the men’s basketball game against Monmouth. NIU’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebration is scheduled for Feb. 5 when the Huskie women’s basketball team hosts Kent State, and NIU will celebrate Black History Month on Feb. 11 when the men’s basketball team hosts Buffalo .

Season and single-game tickets for Huskie Basketball are on sale now. Men’s basketball season tickets start at just $105 for general admission tickets in sections 106-109 (lower bowl base line), with reserved seating available for just $120, while women’s basketball season tickets start at just $35 for general admission and $50 for reserved seats starting in section 103 as well as 111-113.
