Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man 4’ sets official release date

It’s official: a quarter Spider-Man Film starring Tom Holland as Marvel’s Friendly Neighborhood Wall-Crawler comes to the cinema.

Sony announced that the latest film in the series will premiere in summer 2026. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously directed Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Like the previous three Spider-Man films – Homecoming, Far away from homeAnd No way home – The film is a co-production with Marvel and Marvel Studios and takes place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. (The film is technically part of the sixth phase of the MCU.)

If this schedule is followed, summer 2026 will become summer 2027, the most consequential year in MCU history since 2019. The first of two avenger sequels, end of the world – starring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom – premiering May 1, 2026, a little less than two months earlier Spider Man 4. Its sequel, Avengers: Secret Warsfollows on May 7, 2027.

That means Spider Man 4 will debut between the two films – and if End of the world ends with some kind of cliffhanger, Spider-Man will have to take it into account. Of course there are ways to get around this – Captain Marvel appeared in between Avengers: Infinity War And Avengers: Endgame – and most of it was a period piece, with only the post-credits scene taking place in the present and highlighting Thanos’ destruction of half the universe. How exactly Spider Man 4 Fitting into these two films that have the potential to completely reshape the MCU will be interesting to watch.

The plot of the new film is unknown. In a recent interview, Holland said he had already seen a draft of the script that “still needs work,” adding that “the writers are doing a great job on the project.”

Spider Man 4 The theatrical release is currently scheduled for July 24, 2026.
