Another seasonal day before things really heat up again

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – When we say, “The heat’s about to go back up,” it’s not just another climb into the 70s or even 80s. No, this is a legitimate chance for back-to-back record highs as Tuesday morning’s low is expected to be warmer than the average high temperature!

That being said, Saturday seems like the perfect day for a walk, with a pumpkin spice-flavored drink and a sweater to match. Expect highs in the 60s for most of the state, with around 70s in far western Nebraska.

The 70s return Sunday, but things will warm up again in the Panhandle, where a few 80s are possible.

That won’t be the only thing returning on Sunday, as wind gusts between 25 and 35 miles per hour could occur.

Monday and Tuesday will be breezy to breezy as southerly winds push temperatures just a few degrees below record highs. It will be short-lived, however, as cooler air returns to the region on Wednesday and a much-needed chance of rain. Halloween temperatures then look typical for this time of year.

Seasonal and record-breaking highs are forecast for the next seven days.
