HISA video explains the Shield Indicator for eligibility

HISA video explains the Shield Indicator for eligibility

In speaking with trainers across the region, we have raised concerns that we cannot determine whether a horse has been cleared for equestrian sport or racing on the HISA portal.

HISA has released an informational video explaining the difference between the green and red signs next to a horse’s name on the portal.

  • A completely green sign indicates the horse is free to run.
  • A red sign means the horse cannot twitch or run.
  • A sign that is green at the top and red at the bottom indicates that a horse can ride but cannot run.
