Spider-Man 4 release date could hint at a connection between Peter and Doom

Spider-Man 4 release date could hint at a connection between Peter and Doom

Just days after Tom Holland confirmed it Spider Man 4 officially moving forward, Disney has set a release date for the film – July 24, 2026, just two months later Avengers: End of the World is coming to cinemas. While Marvel has moved to making two to three superhero films per year most years – which inevitably puts them in close quarters – there’s something interesting about the specific configuration of a major avenger Release with a new one Spider-Man Film. It feels like it has to consciously reflect the incredibly short window of time in between Avengers: Endgame And Spider-Man: Far From Home. And that could indicate some inner turmoil for Peter Parker.

This is the first one avenger film since then Endgameand combine it with rapid fire Spider-Man The follow-up definitely feels like it needs to intentionally reflect Endgame And Spider-Man: Far From Home. In the case of Far away from homethe film picked up speed almost immediately after it ended Endgameand Peter’s internal struggle with the death of Tony Stark at the end of this film.

Since Spider Man 4 comes close on its heels Avengers: End of the Worlda film that brings Robert Downey Jr. back – this time as Doctor Doom – it’s reasonable to assume that the parallels in release date suggest a parallel emotional journey.

Fans have a lot of questions about the nature of Downey’s performance – will he play Victor Von Doom, a guy who happens to look like Tony Stark? Will Victor be an alternate universe version of Tony? Or something in between or completely different?

A possibility – especially since the Russo Brothers are back on top and they’re clearly no strangers to it Captain America Lore – could Doom be the child of Howard Stark and another woman (perhaps Latvian royalty?) in an alternate timeline? That would mix elements of a number of fan theories and give filmmakers a chance to revisit characters from them First Avengerwhatever is a popular idea.

All of this is a lot of speculation, of course – but considering how important Iron Man’s relationship with Spider-Man was to the first trilogy, it seems reasonable to assume that his fourth film will come out just weeks after Robert Downey’s return opinion.

Last time, Peter was struggling with the loss of Tony Stark. This time, Spider-Man has almost no connection to the world, as he essentially wiped Peter Parker back out of existence at the end Spider-Man: No Way Home. A few years have passed since then, but it’s hard to say how much time will have passed in the story, at least until we get an official description of the premise. If Peter is still completely or mostly alone, it would make a lot of sense for him to lose the bond Doom has with Tony Stark – one of three parental figures he has lost in the years since he got her – Powers are hit particularly hard.

That’s obvious a lot full of speculation with little more than a few release dates and a sense of Marvel’s formula to back it up. Still, one could reasonably take the speculation one step further and suspect that this is what Peter is focusing on Spider Man 4 – a film that takes place in between End of the world And Secret wars – is to somehow “save” Doom, returning a version of Tony Stark to the universe and making up for his inability to save him Avengers: Endgame.

Whether he saves or redeems Doom is at all plausible, perhaps it depends entirely on what his plan is and why he’s doing it. For example, if his world is at stake, then perhaps Peter’s genius could help him save it, giving Doom a happy ending and making him a somewhat redeemable character. There are likely several other, similar circumstances that could create either a redemption arc or at least another way to bring closure to Peter with Doom/Tony.

What do you think? Is it likely that the MCU reflects one of its most successful eras, or is it just that? seriously Are you rethinking how a calendar works? Call me on Bluesky or Threads to yell at me about how wrong I am.
