A man died after being shot in the chest in an AutoZone parking lot in West Philadelphia on Friday afternoon, police said.

Philadelphia police said a 33-year-old man was shot once in the chest in the AutoZone parking lot in the 5600 block of Vine Street just after 3:30 p.m

Police took the man to Lankenau Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 5 p.m. No arrests were made and no weapons were recovered.

According to an update from PPD, the homicide unit is now leading the investigation.
