MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a convict accused of shooting himself.

According to MPD, officers responded to a shooting call near Pilot Drive in February of this year.

When they arrived, they found 25-year-old Mar’Stephen Gray sitting in his vehicle.

The affidavit states that Gray was holding his firearm in his vehicle when he shot himself in the thigh area.

MPD says Gray was taken to the hospital and treated for the gunshot wound; The pistol was confiscated from the car.

It later emerged that Gray was released after serving a suspended sentence for multiple counts of theft of property.

Gray was arrested on October 25 and is now being held without bail; Gray is now charged with reckless endangerment.
