Holloway (26-7) is a former UFC featherweight champion and is now one of the most elite strikers in MMA. “Blessed” lost the belt to Alexander Volkanovski and was unable to regain it twice against him. The owner of the most significant strikeouts (3,378) in UFC history has won four in a row since his last fight with “The Great”.

Holloway became the top contender after winning the symbolic BMF title against Justin Gathje, forcing him to the center of the cage and knocking Gathje out with seconds left. He hopes to take out one of the deadliest men in the UFC in Topuria.

Topuria (15-0) has five wins by knockout and eight by submission. The Georgian and Spanish fighter defeated Volkanovski to win gold, his fifth in the octagon in seven fights. “El Matador” believes that Holloway fighting him is stupid and that taking part in BMF fights could be a safer role for him.

“If you’re at the point in your career where you’re BMF and you have that belt, why would you want to go down to fight for the featherweight title where your chances of winning are very slim?” Topuria asked CBS Sports. “The only thing that makes you relevant is the BMF belt.

“You will lose a lot of value if someone comes and beats you, even if you don’t put the BMF belt on the line. Imagine what will happen after October 26th if I knock him out. His belt will no longer have any value. You can call yourself BMF, but I’m not sure.
