Pitzer, Stout record pins at annual Blue-Gold Dual

PITTSBURGH – Pitt fans gathered at Fitzgerald Field House on Friday night to get their first look at the 2024-25 Panthers during the annual Blue-Gold matchup. The intrasquad exhibition featured 13 matches in eight different weight classes, with the gold team defeating the blue team 27-25.

The season preview was highlighted by Pins from Mac Stout at 197 and Dayton Pitzer at 285. It was also a win for the Panthers Reece Heller who won at 184, 4-1, with a late victory over the Buffalo transfer Chase Kranitz.

Freshmen Kade Brown impressed in his first appearance with the Panthers, winning both matches at 149 against redshirt sophomores Jack Pletcher And Finn Solomon. Columbia Transfer Nick Babin He also won both of his fights at 125 by major decisions and Vincent Santaniello won with a tech fall fat rating of 133, scoring points in the lightweight divisions.

Kelin Laffey won both bouts at 165 and Solomon (149) won his first bout of the day by technical fall

NEXT
The Panthers will officially open their season on Saturday, November 2nd against Navy at Fitzgerald Field House. The game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
