Where to Watch World Series: Yankees vs. Dodgers Game 1 on TV Channel, Live Stream Online Without Cable, Time?

LOS ANGELES – The 2024 World Series is here. Get excited, baseball fans. We shouldn’t need much encouragement for Yankees vs. Dodgers. This is a great matchup. It is the first Fall Classic between the No. 1 playoff seeds since 2013 and only the second in this entire millennium. The Dodgers had the best record in baseball that season, while the Yankees finished with the best record in the American League. The star power here is topping the charts with Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Mookie Betts.

Hopefully we’ll see seven games, but for now we’ll focus on Game 1. Here’s the streaming information for today’s game at Dodger Stadium, which features Gerrit Cole for the Yankees and Jack Flaherty for the Dodgers.

Yankees at Dodgers, 8:08 p.m. ET

RHP Gerrit Cole vs. RHP Jack Flaherty

Cole has been a mixed bag this postseason. He was generally shaky in Game 1 of the ALDS and Game 2 of the ALCS, but was also pretty dominant in Game 4 of the ALDS. Ultimately, the Yankees won all three of his starts and he has a 3.31 ERA. He has only 12 strikeouts in 16⅓ innings and walked four in 4⅓ innings last time out. This is a cause for concern. He has not seen the Dodgers since June 3, 2023.

Flaherty is capable of dominating or completely falling apart. Just look at the NLCS. He pitched seven scoreless innings in Game 1 and then gave up eight runs in three innings in Game 5. One might wonder if it was perhaps because his first start was at home and his second was on the road, but he had many poor outings at Dodger Stadium, including Game 2 of the NLDS. The Yankees have not seen Flaherty since April 28, 2023.

The piece: Over 8.5 runs (-105)

Will the juice balls be used again? I’m kidding, but if so, who cares? We can benefit from this, just like we drive all the overs in the NLCS. We scored some sort of over in every single game there. The Dodgers scored 46 runs and allowed 26 in those six games. That’s an average of 12 runs per game. The Yankees’ offense also arguably has more firepower than the Mets’.

If you’re concerned that the layoff could impact hitters before the World Series, consider that the Yankees scored six runs in Game 1 of the ALDS after five days’ rest and the Dodgers scored seven in Game 1 of the NLDS after five days’ rest Runs scored.

In addition to everything else in this series, there is something else to consider. Dodger Stadium and Yankee Stadium have been among the most homer-friendly parks for several years. In 2024, Dodger Stadium had the fourth-best park factor for home runs, and if we’re limiting ourselves to day games – remember, these start at 5:00 p.m. local time, so there’s still daylight left for much of the game – it’s third.

And since we love run scoring here, let’s get some fun player props too.

The pieces: Juan Soto over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (-115) and Mookie Betts over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (-135)

Soto was 9 for 25 (.360) with two doubles, three home runs and six RBI in six games at Dodger Stadium last season. So far in the playoffs this year, he is hitting .333/.439/.667 with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and six runs batted in. He went just 7-of-19 with three homers in the ALCS over five games. For those curious, the last time Soto played in the World Series at age 19, he was 9-for-27 with two doubles, three home runs, seven RBI and six runs batted in. At the age of 19. He’s Juan Freaking Soto.

He also sits behind the red-hot Gleyber Torres in the batting order and ahead of sluggers Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.

Speaking of comfortable lineup spots, Betts follows Ohtani and is ahead of the rest of the Dodgers. Although there wasn’t as much ink and virtual ink as Judge’s playoff struggles, Betts continued to enjoy a highly publicized playoff slump for a while. However, in his last nine games, he is 13 for 38 (.342) with four doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI and nine runs scored. That’s 34 hits plus runs plus RBI in nine games, or an average of 3.77 per game.

In case you’re wondering, Betts is 7-for-17 (.412) in his career against Cole.
