Teen shot, man injured in DC shooting

A shooting Friday left a 16-year-old boy dead and another man injured, leaving D.C. police searching for answers.

According to Deputy Police Chief LaShay Makal, officers were searching the 2700 block of Langston Place SE around 4:30 p.m. when a man with gunshot wounds approached them.

While officers were rendering aid, they heard gunshots nearby and ran to the 2800 block where they found the juvenile victim.

Both victims were taken to hospital, but the teenager could not be saved.

Authorities are now searching for a black male suspect wearing all-black clothing with white writing on his back who was last seen fleeing the crime scene on foot.

“The investigation is still in its early stages and we need the community’s help,” Makal said.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to help track down the shooter.
