Cleveland State men’s tennis is off to a strong start at the Viking Invitational

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men’s tennis team got off to a strong start in Friday’s Viking Invitational, advancing four players to the round of 16 of the singles main draw and two teams to the quarterfinals of the doubles main draw.

In singles, the Vikings claimed six victories on the day, including Devin Boyer, Ty Rothchild, Maxime AremonAnd Cole Chappell everyone makes it to the round of 16.

The two teams from Cleveland State are in doubles Cole Chappell/Maxime Aremon And Devin Boyer/Ty Rothchild both reached the quarterfinals. Chappell and Aremon earned a 6-1 victory over IU Indy in the first round and a 7-5 victory over Youngstown State in the second round, while Boyer and Rothchild earned a 6-4 victory over Butler in their second-round game.

Action at the Viking Invitational continues tomorrow with doubles starting at 9:00 a.m
