Details on Lil Durk’s criminal complaint for murder-for-hire

Lil Durk is behind bars after being arrested on Thursday (October 24) in connection with a murder-for-hire plot along with five other Chicago men affiliated with his Only The Family collective. Now details of his involvement in the case have emerged.

Lil Durk is accused of ordering a hit on Quando Rondo

On Friday (October 25th) XXL obtained the 11-page criminal complaint against Durk, filed in the U.S. Court for the Southern District of California, which outlines the federal government’s case against the 32-year-old Rhymer. Chicago-born rapper Durk Banks has been charged with conspiracy to use interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death and is accused of being the mastermind of Quando Rondo’s attempted murder in August 2022, which resulted in the death of Quando Rondo’s cousin Saviay. a Robinson aka Lul Pab. Below are some of the most shocking allegations from the federal affidavit.

The allegations:

  • Authorities describe Durk as the leader of Only The Family and say the group operates “as a de facto association of individuals who, at the direction of Banks, commit violence, including murder and assault, to maintain their status in the OTF.”
  • On or about the day of King Von’s assassination, November 6, 2020, Durk placed a bounty on Quando Rondo’s head, as Von’s death was caused by one of Quando’s associates, Timothy “Lul Timm” Leeks.
  • On or about August 18, 2022, Lil Durk and his co-conspirators, including suspects Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey and Asa Houston, discovered that Quando Rondo was staying at a hotel in downtown Los Angeles lived.
  • Lil Durk’s OTF-related finances – specifically a credit card with ties to the label – were used by Grant to book flights to California and secure rental cars for her stay. In a text message Durk sent to Grant, the rapper warned, “Don’t book flights without names that are jokes.” [sic] Me.”
  • While four of the suspects took commercial flights from Chicago to Los Angeles, Durk and Grant flew to LA on a private flight the day before the shooting.
  • After Grant, Wilson, Jones, Lindsey and Houston were arrested, Durk booked two international flights to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland, but did not board the planes. When authorities discovered he had booked a third flight from Miami to Italy, they intercepted him on the way to the airport and arrested him.

Five men arrested for Quando Rondo shooting

Durk’s arrest came just hours after Grant, Wilson, Jones, Lindsey and Houston were arrested in Chicago on Thursday and charged in connection with the California shooting and murder of Saviay’a Robinson. They are each charged with conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, murder-for-hire resulting in death and use of a machine gun in a crime of violence resulting in death.

Their detailed 18-page indictment lays out the group’s cross-country plan to assassinate Quando Rondo. The group tracked down Quando and his team in Los Angeles on August 19, 2022, after discovering which hotel he was staying at and fired on the black Escalade that Quando and his entourage were driving into at a gas station in LA, killing Robinson. Quando was uninjured in the shooting.
