It’s Week 8 of the high school football season and the stakes are getting serious.

For starters, Friday marks the 75th meeting between Eisenhower and Davis, as the two rivals mark the 60th anniversary of their famous 1964 duel.

Ike needs a win to clinch its second straight city championship, while a Davis victory would create the first three-way tie between the Pirates, Cadets and Rams since West Valley moved up to Class 4A in 2014.

The CWAC is loaded with matchups full of playoff implications, and the EWAC wraps up its regular season before the East-West crossover in Week 9.
