One man dead, one in custody after shooting at Shell gas station – Mississippi’s premier community newspaper

NATCHEZ – Adams County sheriff’s deputies are on the scene of a shooting at the Shell gas station and convenience store in Washington.

Sheriff Travis Patten said his officers arrived to find a man dead inside the store and several frightened customers and supermarket employees.

Patten said the suspected shooter is in custody. At this point in the investigation, he did not want to give the name of the deceased man or the suspect; However, he said the victim was a white male.

Patten said E-911 dispatchers received a call reporting the shooting at 7:21 p.m
