– Tulane Luka Petrovic And Luc Hoeijmans won all three matches on Friday on a spectacular day at the American Athletic Conference Fall Championships in Houston, while Asaf Frielder recorded two individual victories of his own at the BCC Invitational in Birmingham.

Petrovic, the No. 10 seed in singles, defeated No. 2 seed Tiago Torres of UTSA 6-4, 7-5 in the quarterfinal round. Petrovic will now face Alex Okonkwo from Tulsa in the semifinals on Saturday at noon.

Hoeijmans defeated UAB’s Juan Pablo Valdez 7-6 (4), 6-4 in the quarterfinal backdraw and will next face Rice’s Emir Sendogan in the semifinals, a match also played at noon.

Together, Petrovic and Hoeijmans (seeded No. 3 in doubles) defeated Okonkwo and Timothy Carlsson Seger 8:6 in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals, the Green Wave duo will now face Arthus de la Bassetiere and Kabeer Kapasi from Rice (the group’s number 2) on Saturday at 9 a.m.

The American Individual Championships will be held for the first time in 2024 as the conference determines the men’s and women’s singles and doubles champions. The singles and doubles champions will represent the American Athletic Conference at the ITA Conference Masters Championships November 7-10 in Rome, Georgia.

Two singles players and one doubles tandem from each of the 11 men’s teams and 13 women’s teams in the American Athletic Conference will compete for the singles titles.
