The city of Minot has reported that a man was killed in an officer-involved shooting at a residence in Minot on Friday morning.

According to the city, Minot police officers were dispatched to a residence in southwest Minot following a reported domestic disturbance. Minot Central Dispatch received a call with sounds of an argument between a man and a woman and heard threats about the use of a firearm.

Officers arrived at the scene of the incident and two officers fired their department-issued firearms. The man involved in the reported domestic disturbance was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.

The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave as per protocol and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation has taken over the investigation.
