Warren Central’s Jonah Artman sets the Warren County field goal record

Jonah Artman secured his place as King of the Kickers on Friday evening.

The Warren Central junior hit two field goals of 29 and 32 yards in a 19-7 win over Neshoba Central, setting the Warren County high school football record for most career field goals.

Artman now has 24 in three varsity seasons, breaking the record of 23 set by Warren Central’s Sam Thigpen from 1983-85.

Artman is 7 for 8 on field goals this season. In his high school career, he is 24-for-29, rushing for 46 yards.
He also made 105 of 110 extra point attempts.

Warren Central (5-3, 3-0 MHSAA Region 2-6A) secured a playoff spot with Friday’s win. With a home win against Callaway on November 1st, the team can win the Region 2-6A championship.
