UFC 308: “Topuria vs. Holloway” live results and highlights

The Octagon returns to Abu Dhabi for tonight’s UFC 308 event, a 13-fight bout headlined by Ilia Topuria vs. Max Holloway.

Topuria (15-0 MMA) will look to secure his first career title defense when he takes on the Hawaiian this afternoon. “El Matador” captured the coveted UFC featherweight title at UFC 298 last February, scoring a second-round knockout victory over Alex Volkanovski (see here).

Meanwhile, Max Holloway (26-7 MMA) will compete for the first time since his viral knockout of Justin Gaethje at the UFC 300 event in April. That win earned him the BMF belt from the Blessed promotion and he will now look to regain the featherweight title for the first time since 2019.

UFC 308 is headlined by a highly anticipated middleweight bout pitting former titleholder Robert Whittaker against undefeated Khamzat Chimaev.

Whittaker (26-7 MMA) will enter the contest on a two-fight winning streak, his most recent being a first-round knockout victory over Ikram Aliskerov at the June event in Saudi Arabia. Previously, “The Reaper” outpointed Paulo Costa at UFC 298.

Meanwhile, Khamzat Chimaev (13-0 MMA) will return to action for the first time since scoring a majority decision win over Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 a year ago. Prior to this razor-thin victory, “Borz” had a first-round stoppage win over Kevin Holland at UFC 279.

Tonight’s UFC 308 main card also features a high-risk light heavyweight bout, pitting Magomed Ankalaev against Aleksandar Rakic.

Ankalaev (18-1-1 MMA) will return to the Octagon for the first time since January of this year, where he earned a second-round knockout victory over Johnny Walker (see here). The Russian standout will look to secure a title shot against Alex Pereira with an impressive performance this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Aleksandar Rakic ​​(14-4 MMA) will go into today’s match hoping to overcome a two-fight loss. “Rocket” most recently competed at UFC 300 where he suffered a TKO loss to Jiri Prochazka.
