Man dies five days after shooting at Kearney

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A 62-year-old man died Friday after being shot in Kearney earlier this week.

He died in the intensive care unit at Good Samaritan Hospital, according to the Kearney Police Department.

Authorities did not name the victim.

The shooting happened around 2 p.m. Sunday at a home in southwest Kearney, police said.

Officers found 56-year-old Karen Geisler in front of the house and arrested her.

She is charged with first-degree assault, but police said the charge could be upgraded after the man’s autopsy.
