DeAndre Hopkins’ departure from Titans sparks debate | NFL News

Star far out DeAndre Hopkins is reportedly leaving the Tennessee Titans two seasons after signing with that team; He has a new home in Kansas Cityafter it was traded with Chiefs for a conditional fifth-round draft pick in return. The trade between the teams was completed on Wednesday, and on Thursday morning it was reported that Hopkins had passed his physical, completing the deal and ushering him into a new part of his career.
Later Thursday, Hopkins took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted a heartfelt message for the Titans and the city of Nashville. “Thank you Nashville for bringing joy on and off the field,” he wrote. “Nashville will forever be our home!” The words speak to the deep emotional connection he developed with the city and its fans during his time there.

Mixed results in Tennessee

Hopkins was a three-time Pro Bowl player in his two seasons for the Titans, but he wasn’t nearly as sharp as he was for Minnesota. In 23 games, Hopkins recorded 90 receptions for 1,230 yards and eight touchdowns. Unfortunately for Tennessee, the Titans were 7-16 when he played there.

A bittersweet farewell

But aside from the team’s performance, Hopkins has nothing but praise for his time in Nashville. In July, he said he was “the happiest I’ve ever been in an organization” and was satisfied with both his personal and professional environment. Actually a bittersweet farewell to show how much Nashville and its community had shaped him.

Kansas City is waiting for the end

Now that he has joined the two-time defending champions, Hopkins is excited about what lies ahead. “I have done a lot, all the awards I can achieve as far as personal goals,” he noted. “That’s why I think the only possibility is to play meaningful football in January.” Fans are eagerly awaiting Hopkins’ debut with the Chiefs, which comes in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
