Priority Duke Basketball Recruit Announces Decision Date

Two weeks ago, Bellaire High School (Texas) forward Shelton Henderson listed the Duke basketball program among his three finalists, along with Louisville and home state hopeful Texas. Now the 6-foot-1, 220-pound forward, the No. 22 overall prospect in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, is ready to announce a winner.

On Friday evening, Henderson released the details of his announcement date and also confirmed that he is choosing between the Blue Devils, Cardinals and Longhorns. He will announce his college choice next Saturday, November 2nd at 2:30 pm ET while at his school’s Bellaire Shootout.

And the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer and his massive recruiting team, which includes longtime Henderson mentor Jai Lucas, a Bellaire High School graduate, an 86.6 percent chance of landing the hard-nosed, to be ahead with well-built wings.

Duke appears to be on track to build its third No. 1 collection in Scheyer’s first four recruiting cycles as head coach.

Earlier this month, two Columbus High School (Florida) twins, five-star forward Cameron Boozer and five-star guard Cayden Boozer, became the first Blue Devil commitments for 2025. The Harvard-Westlake forward followed suit this week School (Calif.), Nikolas Khamenia, a top four-star prospect, followed suit, propelling Scheyer & Co. to the top of the early class rankings, according to 247Sports.
