The release date for Spider-Man 4 has been set, but Marvel fans still have a long wait as the film doesn’t come out until July 24, 2026. The highly anticipated film will hit theaters on May 1, 2026, just two and a half months after the release of “Avengers: Doomsday.”

Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man for the fourth time, alongside his lover MJ, played by his real-life girlfriend Zendaya.

During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Tom revealed when production and filming will begin. He explained: “We start filming next summer. Everything is ready to go – we’re almost there. Super exciting. I can barely wait for it!”

Tom has played the iconic role in three solo films: Spider Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider Man: No Way Home (2021), as well as in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

All three films were directed by Jon Watts, but this time Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton will come on board to helm the project.

Spider-Man: No Way Home broke numerous records upon its release in 2021 as it grossed over $1.9 billion worldwide on a budget of $200 million, surpassing its predecessor Spider-Man: Far From Home , which grossed a respectable $1.133 billion in 2019.

The Marvel blockbuster became the highest-grossing film of 2021 at the time of release and the sixth highest-grossing film of all time.

Not only did it set records for films released during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it also became the highest-grossing Spider-Man film.

After the release date was announced, Marvel fans flooded Reddit’s timelines with comments.

One person wrote: “So this guy is going to release an Avengers movie, a Spider-Man movie and a Nolan movie in the same year. Will it be the first time in history that an actor grosses more than $4 billion in a year?”

Someone else said: “You know something, Tom Holland will be the third superhero actor to play the same character in four solo films.”

While a third commented: “It’s worth noting that Christopher Nolan’s next film is scheduled for the week before and also stars Tom Holland.”

Spider Man 4 hits theaters on July 24, 2026.
