Start with his why – Park Record

I am writing to add my voice to the chorus in support of Ari Ioannides for Summit County Council.

Since meeting Ari a few months ago, I’ve learned a few things about him. His commitment to public service and Summit County dated back long before his bid for council. He is a serial entrepreneur and a proven problem solver.

And Ari knows how to manage a budget – something we could use here

He will help restore much-needed balance to the Council.

I’m a fan of Ari for many reasons, starting with his why, which you can see on his homepage www.vote4ari.com:

“I am running for County Council because I believe in smart, balanced solutions that protect the character of Summit County. Our community faces challenges such as rising costs of living, traffic and pressure from growth driven by second home owners and the resort economy.”

He continues, “I am committed to addressing these issues by preserving open spaces, making living here more affordable, and improving essential services for all residents. My experience on the North Summit Fire District Control Board and as a technology entrepreneur has taught me that collaboration and listening are key to finding real solutions.”

Ari has an affordable housing plan (it’s the #1 issue on the Issues tab on his website).

Dakota Pacific’s current proposal is not Part of this plan. He has knocked on many doors and the vast majority are a “no.” This overwhelming sentiment is also reflected in Ari saying a clear “no” to DP.

Ari has already invested countless hours serving Summit County and has saved literally millions by developing a brilliant data-driven solution for the North Summit Fire District by staffing two fire stations instead of three while modernizing existing infrastructure, equipment and training.

When it comes to open spaces, Ari walks the talk. He and his family completed a conservation act and gifted development rights to 260 acres of prime real estate to Summit Land Conservancy at no cost to the community. This land, already designated as a development zone, could have earned them millions, but instead they chose to preserve it for the benefit of the community.

I was at meetings hosted by his opponent and Ari. The difference is remarkable. While his opponent is a kind person and enjoys serving, her ideas are mostly nebulous and immature. She’s just not ready for prime time.

Ari, on the other hand, is a remarkable communicator, has great ideas and thinks things through. Based on his proven track record, it’s clear that he’s not only the right candidate for the job – Ari is ready to hit the ground running from day one.

I invite you to visit his website and see for yourself what he has done and is up to. I strongly support Ari Ioannides for county councilor.
