The world’s best male triathletes will travel to Kona, Hawaii, for the Ironman World Championships on Sunday.

Athletes will set out to complete a 140.6-mile adventure that includes a 2.4-mile swim in Kailua Bay, a 112-mile bike ride through the iconic Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway, and a 26th… .2 mile walk there is HOST Park at the Natural Energy Laboratory Hawai`i Authority (NELHA).

Sam Laidlow, Patrick Lange and Magnus Ditlev, who finished on the podium in Nice last year, are expected to fight for the top spots again. The Norwegian duo Kristian Blummenfelt and Gustav Iden, who won the World Cup in 2021 and 2022 respectively, are also top contenders.

Even if the odds aren’t entirely in their favor, Americans Matthew Marquardt, Trevor Foley and Rudy von Berg could be surprise candidates for the top spots.

The 2024 Ironman World Championship in Kona begins on Saturday, October 26th at 12:25 p.m. ET. Athletes begin with a 2.4-mile swim course, followed by a 112-mile bike course, and finish with a 26.2-mile race.
