US Marshals Arrest Multiple Massachusetts Fugitives and Teens in Maine – New Bedford Guide

Portland, ME – The US Marshals Service (USMS) in Maine announces the arrest of several Massachusetts fugitives in the towns of Madison and Skowhegan, Maine.

On October 24, 2024, the USMS Maine Violent Offender Task Force (MVOTF) located and apprehended a fugitive following a vehicle stop in Madison, Maine. The fugitive, identified as a juvenile, had warrants issued for his arrest in the Superior Court of Bristol County, Massachusetts, for carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license, assault and battery with a firearm, and discharging a firearm within a 500 radius Walking around a building and vandalism issued property damage and intentional damage to a motor vehicle. Today, October 25, 18-year-old Kvon Brooks was located in Skowhegan, Maine, on warrants from the District Court of Fall River, Massachusetts for Attempted Murder, Strangulation or Asphyxiation, Assault and Battery on a Family Member/Family Member, Assault and Battery made and arrested. Assault on a pregnant victim and destruction of property. Brooks was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by members of the U.S. Marshal Task Force this morning.

Concurrent with Brooks’ arrest, it was discovered that another passenger, who was a juvenile, had outstanding warrants from the Superior Court of Bristol County, Massachusetts, for Carrying a Firearm without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of ammunition without an FID card and possession of large capacity firearms and trespassing.

The Massachusetts, USMS New England HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area) Fugitive Task Force, the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS), and the New Bedford, Massachusetts Police Department worked together and provided information to the U.S. Marshals, Maine available to the Task Force for Violent Offenders. All three individuals were arrested without incident and charged as fugitives from justice.

The USMS, Maine Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of members from the U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Department of Corrections, Biddeford Police Department, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Maine National Guard Counterdrug Task Force.
