A two-alarm fire damages a home in far east Normal

PEORIA (25News Now) – A massive fire damaged a home on far east Normal, but fortunately no one was injured.

The regular fire department responded shortly after 4 p.m. Friday to numerous 911 calls reporting heavy smoke and visible fire in the 1200 block of Silver Oak Circle.

When emergency services arrived on scene, they could see the black cloud of smoke in the sky and immediately raised the alarm.

Multiple agencies had to assist as a serious fire broke out and part of the garage and house were engulfed in flames.

During a search of the home, no one was found inside and all occupants were counted and reported safe.

The fire was under control after an hour, but emergency services remained on site for several hours.

There is currently no damage estimate and the cause is still under investigation.
