An Ocean City firefighter’s response to a fire was captured on video

Dramatic video captured during a house fire Saturday in Ocean City shows a firefighter narrowly escaping the flames on a second-floor balcony.

Social media was abuzz Saturday morning with photos and videos of a raging house fire at East 16th and West Avenue in Ocean City.

Not much is yet known about the cause of the fire, which broke out before 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Dramatic video shows firefighter escaping flames

A video shot by Jane Davis and posted to Facebook shows a firefighter walking from a second-floor bedroom onto an outdoor patio that quickly bursts into flames.

The firefighter moves as far away from the oncoming flames as he can and waits patiently as his comrades raise a ladder to the second floor just in time for him to climb down from the house before the fire overtakes him.
