BJP releases list of 40 star activists; PM Modi is expected to hold 12 public rallies including Mumbai, Akola and Nanded

Mumbai: With polls for the Maharashtra assembly elections less than a month away, all political parties have released lists of their candidates and a few more lists are expected in the next few days. After releasing its list of 99 candidates earlier this week, the BJP on Saturday released a list of 40 launch activists for the Maharashtra elections. The list includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, several union ministers and BJP-led state leaders.

The union ministers who are the main campaigners for Maharashtra include: Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Ashwini Vaishav, Bhupendra Yadav, Piyush Goyal, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Muralidhar Mohol and others.

Several BJP-led chief ministers of the state will also campaign for the Maharashtra elections, including Yogi Aadityanath of UP, Nayab Singh Saini of Haryana, Pramod Sawat of Goa, Himanta Biswa Sharma of Assam and others.

Other BJP leaders who are among the star campaigners for Maharashtra include Mohan Yadav, Narayan Rane, Vishnu Deo Sai, former MP and former Union minister Smriti Irani, Navneet Rana and Pankaja Munde, among others.

BJP election rallies begin in Maharashtra

The list of 40 star activists also includes BJP leaders and assembly election candidates from Maharashtra, including CM Devendra Fadnavis, state party chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar and others.

Meanwhile, the poll bugle sounded for BJP leaders and many of them held rallies on Friday before filing their nomination forms.

In the coming days, Prime Minister Modi will also hold election rallies in Maharashtra. Talking to the media on Friday, Chandrashekhar Bawankule said that Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to hold 11 or 12 election rallies in Maharashtra including Akola, Dhule, Nanded, Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.

Voting for 288 assemblies in Maharashtra will be held on November 20 and the results will be announced three days after the election.
