White man exposed as mastermind of ‘Black Insurrectionist’ conspiracy report

A white man from upstate New York is reportedly behind the X (formerly Twitter) “Black Insurrectionist” account, which spread false conspiracy theories about Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

The account used a profile photo of a black soldier and the slogan “I FOLLOW BACK TRUE PATRIOTS” and amassed over 300,000 followers before disappearing on October 17, according to an Associated Press investigation.

Known for its disinformation, it spread unsubstantiated claims about Harris and Walz, some of which were supported by figures such as Donald Trump, who reportedly praised the report by saying “I love the person.”

AP identified the operator of the account as 52-year-old Jason G. Palmer, a man with a history of fraud, more than $6.7 million in tax debt and a previous FBI raid on his home.

Initially, Palmer claimed he only managed the account briefly and sold it to an unnamed buyer months ago.

However, he later admitted to AP that he had recently played a role in spreading false claims about Walz by identifying himself as a “researcher” in a larger group and stating that a Black friend was the main operator of the account.

Those familiar with Palmer, including Kathleen Albano – whose late husband was once his business partner – said his involvement was not surprising, citing his reputation for deception. Albano described him as someone who “captivates people.”

Palmer’s background includes controversial behavior, with former business partners and legal representatives describing a pattern of conspiratorial allegations and misconduct.
