Team news: Jensen returns against Ipswich

Midfielder Mathias Jensen will return to the Brentford squad for Saturday’s Premier League game against Ipswich Town, head coach Thomas Frank has confirmed.

Jensen, who is sidelined with a calf injury, last appeared in the Bees’ 3-1 win over Southampton on August 31.

“He will be included in the squad, which is very positive,” said Frank in his pre-match press conference. “He’s been training all week and looks good.”

Rico Henry (knee), Igor Thiago (knee) and Gustavo Nunes (back) are unavailable for the Tractor Boys’ visit to the Gtech Community Stadium, but Frank revealed the trio are making good progress.

“Rico is getting closer, but not close enough [for Ipswich]” he said.

“I don’t know if careful is the right word, but we want to do it right. If a player is out for an extended period of time, you want to be sure they are ready when you get them on the field.

“I’d like to say something now, but it’s better for me to come to a future press conference and say, ‘Rico is available tomorrow.'”

Regarding Thiago and Nunes, Frank added: “Both of them are running around on the pitch, but not with the team. That’s positive.”

Aaron Hickey (thigh) and Josh Dasilva (knee) remain the West Londoners’ long-term absences.
