In the interview, Vandeweghe said she was in New Mexico for a charity event when she came across the news. “I was in New Mexico doing a fundraiser for this charity called First Serve and I was like, “What the hell am I reading?” So yeah, I was surprised and it is. I mean, she keeps things secret.” Remember, Collins, who suffers from endometriosis, wrote on Instagram on October 17: “The DANIMAL story is not over yet. I will be back on tour in 2025.” This came after the player’s name emerged for the 2025 United Cup, which was due to take place between January 1 and 5 next year, causing confusion. However, Vandeweghe believes a withdrawal from his retirement plans will be accepted if the player is willing to play more games.
