BYU and Indiana advance as they remain undefeated

College football remains a perpetually dynamic ocean of wins, losses, upsets and heartache. The AP Top 25 Rankings are merely human attempts to organize and understand the turf madness that reigns every weekend on every soccer field in the United States.

Although this numbering system is trivial, these rankings evoke a lot of emotions. It’s like losing a game of Mario Party because of the bonus stars: you’ll be filled with rage. But just as this video game is nothing more than ones and zeros, these rankings are just meaningless numbers. Is the 13th place team actually the 13th best squad in their respective league? It’s actually impossible to know.

So while I’m going to predict this week’s AP Poll, please remember that I’m making a prediction about how I think these rankings will play out. That is not my personal top 25 (you’ll probably notice that BYU isn’t in the top 5), but rather a prediction of what the official rankings might look like, taking into account factors like Poll sluggishness, last week’s results and the like.

BYU and Indiana remain the biggest surprises in college football after this defeating their eighth opponent in a row. Meanwhile, the rest of the Top 25 saw some shocking results as Top 10 LSU fell to the disgruntled Leprechaun. Illinois, Navy, Missouri and Vanderbilt all also suffered unfortunate losses at the bottom of the rankings and will likely drop out of the top 25. It breaks my heart.

You never know how voters will view the ninth week results until the actual polls are announced. But with all that said, how about we make a guess?
