The Monroe County Veterans Day Parade is in its third year

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Monroe County’s annual Veterans Day Parade will be held for the third time on November 9th. Launch is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the corner of South Goodman Street and Highland Avenue.

The parade route runs up Highland Avenue to the Greater Rochester Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Gary Beikirch Park on South Avenue.

On Monday, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello’s office announced that Salvatore’s Pizza will be the official sponsor this year.

“It is our great honor to not only support one of our own – veteran Nick Pearl, owner of Henrietta Salvatore’s Saloon – but also to honor the sacrifices and service of our local veterans by recognizing their contributions to our country.” said Kayla Kent-Moreira, President of Salvatore.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, the Grand Marshal of this year’s parade will be “The Vietnam Veteran.” Members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20 will be featured on a float during the parade.
