The Baltimore Ravens are going for the fences. A week after trading former Pro Bowl wideout Diontae Johnson, the team acquired former Pro Bowl cornerback Tre’Davious White from the Rams just before the deadline, according to NFL Media.

According to ESPN, in addition to White, the Ravens will also receive a 2027 seventh-round pick and the Rams will receive a 2026 seventh-round pick.

White, 29, started four games for the Rams this season. He will now join a Ravens defense that currently ranks last in the NFL in passing yards allowed and 28th in touchdown passes allowed. Despite its struggles in pass defense, Baltimore is currently 6-3 in the AFC North division standings, just behind first-place Pittsburgh (6-2).

Recent injuries are most likely the reason White was available as a free agent this past offseason. A torn cruciate ligament in 2021 sidelined him for a whole year. White then missed the final games of the 2023 season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon.

Headshot of the player

Before these injuries, White was one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. A first-round pick in 2017, he collected six passes and broke up 26 more in his first two years in Buffalo. He earned All-Pro honors in 2019 after catching a league-best six passes and helping Buffalo clinch a wild-card playoff spot.

In 2020, White was selected to the Pro Bowl for the second consecutive season while also playing a key role in keeping the Bills just one game away from the Super Bowl.

As he heads toward becoming a legitimate Super Bowl contender, White leaves a Rams team that has performed strongly after a 1-4 start. Los Angeles has won three games in a row and sits just behind first-place Arizona (5-4) in the NFC West standings.
