Internet outages at Verizon Fios impact millions on the East Coast

The Verizon Fios internet outages have impacted millions of customers across the East Coast, causing significant disruption in the early hours of Tuesday.

A map of problems reported by users shows that the affected area stretches about 300 miles from Philadelphia to Richmond, Virginia, according to third-party website Downdetectorthat tracks service interruptions in real time.

Outage.Report also said it found significant breaches against Verizon Fios.

“During the incident, we received reports from Washington, Lewes, Miami, LaGrange, Baltimore, Silver Spring, Raleigh, Cherry Hill, Maple Shade, Sewell, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Ashburn, Fairfax, Falls Church, Henrico County, Norfolk and 16 other cities,” noted Outage.Report.

“There is either an outage or network maintenance impacting your region. We don’t have full details yet. We apologize for any inconvenience,” Verizon said in response to a user on X asking about the outages.

“We are trying to get all the information from our network team so we can provide you all with an update.”
