Landlord tries to drive away the Republican Cory Mills in Florida from the apartment due to unpaid rent

Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla.

In a complaint submitted to the DC Superior Court last week, Bozzuto Management Company said that the Member of the Congress did not pay a total of 85,009 US dollars between March and July. According to the court report, the monthly rent for the property is 20,833.

The administrative company asks the court to allow it to vacate mills, and for an order that he has to submit future monthly payments to the court until the case is solved. A first hearing is planned for September 8th.

The lawsuit was first reported by Roger Sollberger, an independent journalist.

A resident main register that accompanied the administrative company's lawsuit seems to show that Mills repeatedly did not pay its rent in time and that it frequently evaluated fees for late payments. He moved into the property in June 2023.

According to court files, Mills was sent in January with a message to pay over $ 18,000 in the past rent until February 26 and a message about the company's intention to file a lawsuit.

A spokesman for Mills did not immediately answer a request for comments on Monday evening, but Mills previously published screenshots on X a day, of which he said “he was repeatedly asked about payment links, and again, as I tried today with the management that he did not process it today.”

A lawyer listed for the administrative company did not immediately answer inquiries about comments on the social media contribution of Mills.

The police opened an investigation by Mills in February for a report on a suspected attack in a residential building in the same block as the rental dispute. Mills's office said that he had “vehemently” vehemently denied “misconduct”, and a police spokesman said at the time that the Congressman had not been arrested and that no charges had been raised.

Mills have represented the 7th Congress district of Florida since January 2023.
