From Davie to Pembroke Pines, a number of communities from Broward County were affected with a considerable amount of rain in a short time.

The storms were enough to trigger flood data in South Florida that were in force until afternoon.

They also caused widespread delays at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Officials said 89 flights were delayed and 29 were canceled when a floor station was ordered for the departure of flights in the middle of the thunderstorms.

It was a similar story at Miami International Airport, where passengers were welcomed with more delays and canceled flights, many only tried to make it home.

“We cross our thumb that we actually create because we get stuck here for the night and we would have to wait in a different line, and it took two hours to wait to change our flight,” said a passenger at Mia.

Officials at Miami International Airport said on Monday afternoon, there were 181 flight delays and 47 cancellations, mainly because of the weather.
