Tampa Bay Buccaners bring the originals back in 1976 white road uniforms to celebrate the 50th NFL season of the franchise

The Tampa Bay Buccaners will bring a legendary look back for their home start during the third week against the New York Jets, the team said on Tuesday.

To celebrate the 50th NFL season of the franchise, the Buccaneers will attract their original uniform from 1976 with white jerseys, helmets and pants with orange and red stripes.

These uniforms were only worn for the opening season of the Buccaners in 1976. The complete orange creamsicle design has been used several times since 2009. However, this is the first time that these white uniforms have been worn for 50 years.

The 2025 uniforms have a special Creamsicle 50. Season patch and “Hey! Hey! Tampa bay!” Sewn in the Jersey collar – an allusion to the Buccaners' campaign of 1979.

“The Jersey '76 represents a piece of the history of Buccaneers and serves as a tribute to the generations of fans and players who have shaped this franchise,” said Brian Ford Brian Ford, Chief Operating Officer from Buccaners. “As we start our 50th season, we are proud to reintroduce the 76 jersey and tradition. It is a memory that every Buccaneers fan from the originals to the latest generation is part of a developing story that started in 1976 and was further written today.”

Tampa started well as a franchise in 1976 by designing the future Pro Football Hall of Famer Lee Roy Selmon with the first overall selection. Selmon joined a squad in which Steve Spur reier started 12 games during the quarterback. Louis Carter led the team with 521 yards in Rushing, and Morris Owens and JK McKay were the two best recipients with over 300 reception meters.

While the first season of the Buccaners was unforgettable in 1976, it was unforgettable in the field. The team went 0-14 and was excluded five times. The start of the win was the beginning of a 0: 26 run in the league in the first two years.

The complete creams are not completed from the 2025 jersey rotation of the Buccaners. The team will wear them against the Atlanta Falcons during “Thursday night football” on December 11th.
