Netflix records Curiosity Stream Dokudrama series 'Titans: The Rise of Hollywood'.

It always feels a little strange that Netflix hit the original of another streamer, but in 2025 it was already full of surprises. At the beginning of this year, Netflix Park Video's Sneaky PeteAnd now we'll see one first. For the first time there is an original series from Curiosity Stream on Netflix. Published for the first time in the summer of 2022, Titan: The rise of Hollywood served as a follow-up too Titan: The rise of Wall Streetwhich had been published a few months earlier. Directed by Patrick Reams (Netflix's Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War), The six-part Dokudrama series tells the story of Hollywood, as it was built in the early 20th century, as the Hungarian-American film producer Adolph Zucor is told, with many of the studios and figureheads as important today as during the start of the film industry.

The series contains six episodes that are as follows:

• Episode 1: Fight against trust
  • At the beginning of the 20th century, Carl Laemmle, entrepreneur of immigrants, wants to redeem the growing fascination of America for moving images. But when he starts building an industry, he encounters a powerful cartel that is led by Thomas Edison.
• Episode 2: Escape from New York
  • Edison's strangling area in the movable image industry forces Laemmle and his band from vain filmmakers to flee to Cuba, but not before signing a promising young actress named Mary Pickford. The Warners try to take their own pictures in St. Louis.
• Episode 3: Ascent of the studios
  • Until 1914, films are more popular than ever and with Edison's cartel from the picture, the titans can make films for free where and how they want. To exceed his rivals, Laemmle builds a massive film factory in Hollywood called Universal City.
• Episode 4: Sin City
  • While Hollywood merges into a busy metropolis from a dusty country town, the balance of power has changed in favor of the stars. Now titans like Paramount from Zukor are forced to pay enormous contracts to top actors to make them happy.
• Episode 5: The Talkies
  • Until 1925, Zukors Paramount Pictures, Laemmles Universal Pictures and Mayers MGM were some of the most profitable companies in the country. But the hapless Warner brothers came across a groundbreaking technology that could move the balance of power again – sound.
• Episode 6: Case of the Moguls
  • The Warner's' film “The Jazz singer” proves the world that “Talkies” stay here. And every other titanium has to spend millions to convert his studios into sound.
