Persistent water leaks in caneside remain unattended

A series of water leaks along the school year crescition in Caneside, Phoenix, flows from a resident who dates back to May in May.

Although two of the leaks are reportedly repaired by municipal employees, several others remain unsolved and have contributed to the deteriorating water shortage in the past few months, which has plagued Phoenix and the surrounding areas.

The resident, who applied for anonymity, first reported the problem in May this year and shared a schedule with the efforts to make the community react.

“We got into my property with water leaks from outside of our farm and called the helpline. We left news, spoke people and received reference numbers. While I had tracked the references, I also noticed licks on the street and also reported them,” said the resident.

The resident claimed that the city teams finally reacted to some of the licks on the side of the road, but according to the resident they let an open ditch where the work had been carried out and ignored the leaks that affect their private farm.

Despite repeated calls and follow-ups, including direct communication with an official who is reportedly responsible for the section with water leak, the problem remains unresolved.

“He asked me to send reference numbers that I did. I even sent pictures and videos of the water that broke into my property. Finally, he stopped receiving and answering my calls,” added the resident.

After the resident had been continuously ignored, he consulted his regular plumber to only tell that the leak was not in his real estate lines.

“He said there is no water leak on my side of ownership – it is on the council side. But he claimed by law that he could not repair anything on the side of the council,” said the resident.

The resident began to document the leaks with photos and videos frustrated and desperately after a solution, and even offered to walk through the area of municipal civil servants to show them first -hand damage.

The stagnant water pooling in yards and on the street not only represents a loss of a narrow resource, but also represents a potential risk of health and infrastructure.

The resident requests urgent interventions from the municipality, since Phoenix is currently fighting with the challenges of water supply and emphasizing unattended leaks such as those at school on the Half moon school on Schulte's Half moon.
