3 best more films for streaming when you have loved Jaws

There is no doubt that Jaw is one of the greatest thrillers ever. If you haven't seen it yet, I envy this first experience. For the other 300 million million of them you will find three more intensive thrilling theaters that you can see at home.

If they were not yet aware of Jaw And all three of their sequels are now available on Netflix. The original is a must. Jaws 2 It is worth being observed, but frankly I would stop there. No, to see something that can conjure up similar fear and the same tension, you have to look beyond this franchise.

There are dozens of great films that you can watch when you are in the mood to frighten 7/8 of the way to death. I mean why go halfway, right? But I wanted to remain as part of the apparently senseless, relentless murderer that we see in the big white shark. Remember, terror can come from many places. What you do not find here are murderers like Hannibal Lecter or the villain in one of the latest horror thrillers. No, we stay here in creature functions. Mostly.

Open water – 2003

It is hard to believe that this film was published over 20 years ago. Then again, again Jaw Even half a century is old. Spielberg's pioneering film was imitated – I dare to say it – to death. It may be difficult to believe, but there are actually worse Haiffilme than Kiefer: The revenge. That counts the intentionally terrible, therefore wonderful, therefore wonderful, Sharknado Series of films.

Open water Was one of the first and few films that resurrected the slow structure of terror. It was chosen for a whopping 500,000 US dollars (or about a week catering budget for the average blockbuster) and $ 55 million worldwide. It's okay, but what matters is that it is an intense swimming. A couple on a diving trip will accidentally be left behind in the open ocean. And we all know what lives in the sea. One reason why the film works so well is that all sharks are real. No mechanical sharks to collapse, no CGI sharks to flicker and fade. Simply grind, relentless terror.

Open water Streaming is currently not in subscription services, but is available for rent/purchase on the usual Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango at home, etc.

Foreigner – 1979

The chances are good, I don't have to tell you much about it. On the other hand, it came out 46 years ago. While Aliens is a worthy sequel, it is a completely different kind of film. James Cameron made a loud, action-packed roller coaster egg track of a film. Don't make a mistake, I love it. To be honest, he was wise to approach the story very differently. Because the original for sheer terror does not give topping.

Ridley Scott made the opposite in the original film. He made a calm, extremely creepy haunted haunt. As the tagline was: “In space she can not hear anyone screaming.” Well, we scream like the Xenomorph – this is the title that is foreign to the uninitiated – just as unstoppable as the great white shark in Jaw. No matter how often I look at it (and it now has to be at least a dozen), certain scenes still make me jump. You are warned.

Foreigner is available for hulu or for rent/purchase.

duel – 1971

Okay, I started with a shark film. That makes sense, right? Next we moved to the most widespread space. But we still had a killer creature. Why did I go with it, a film-for-TV film? Those of them who know already know why I chose a film about an average guy who endlessly hunted on an eighteen bike. The truck acts as a monster here because we can never fully see the driver and only guess why he is pursuing our unfortunate hero.

duel was Steven Spielberg's first feature film. The original version was only 74 minutes long, so it fit in the TV time window. When it was so well received, Universal Spielberg had new scenes to stretch the term to 90 minutes. Both versions are closely written exercises in the tension. As the great Richard Matheson wrote the script, you should be based on his own short story. Trust me, I'm still nervous about the tractor vener.

duel is only available for rent or purchase.
