Maple Leafs 'Voit, Flames' Jurmo clear exceptional regulations for termination of the contract


Toronto Maple Leafs Forward Ty Voit and Calgary Flames Defender Joni Jurmo removed the unconditional exemptions on Wednesday and deleted the path for the contract termination.

Per The hockey messages'David Alter, Voit's departure from the Maple Leafs was mutually and friendly.

The 22-year-old Voit joined the Toronto organization in 2023-24 and played an AHL game before going to the Echl Cincinnati Cylcones to play the majority of last season. He scored eight goals and registered 37 points in 63 games.

Voit was selected in the fifth round by the Maple Leafs in the NHL design of 2021.

The 23-year-old Jurmo competed in the flames organization as part of trade, which Elias Lindholm sent to the Vancouver Canucks in 2024. He separated the 2024-25 season between the Calgary Wrangers from Ahl and the Rapid City Rush of the Echl, where he two goals and 10 points in 12 games.

Both players are now free agents who are entitled to sign with each team.
