A man from Bluff City is charged with an overdose in Hampton due to an overdose of 2023 due to crimes.

On July 11th, the MPs of the Sheriff's office from Carter County Bobby Alex Carr, 41, from Bluff City, arrested for a second degree murder and the sale of Schedfferaten.

The fees come from an investigation on July 1, 2023, when the MPs reacted to a house in Hampton after a 911 caller reported to find a man in the residence. The deputies found a 53-year-old man dead on the floor and observed evidence of drug use in the house. An autopsy later determined that the cause of death was a fentanyl overdose.

The investigators found that the victim had bought the drugs from Thomas Farmer (52) from Johnson City. In March 2024, a Grand jury of Carter County accused the farmers of the second degree and the sale of narcotics in Annex II. He was arrested and later released with a bond of $ 50,000. Farmer is due to appear in court on August 4th.

During the investigation, the officials found that farmer had received the drugs from Carr before they sold them to the victim. A Grand Jury by Carter County was presented to Carr's participation, who returned an indictment against him on July 10th.

“This was a very comprehensive investigation when the officials worked to pursue the flow of drugs that caused this man's death,” said Sheriff Mike Fraley. “I would like to praise my officials for their hard work and diligence in carrying out this investigation.”

“Our officials are constantly working on slowing down the drug flow into our community and identifying and pursuing those who sell drugs,” added Fraley. “If you handle drugs, we will follow you. And if you sell drugs to someone who overdosed and dies, you will be held accountable for his death.”
