Publication: Oilers opens the 2025-26 season with the Battle of Alberta


Edmonton, from -Thente for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign, the Edmonton Oilers will open the season with a battle from Alberta against the provincial competitor Calgary Flames.

The NHL released the complete schedule for 2025-26 on Wednesday. The Oilers and Flames competed on Wednesday, October 8th at 8 p.m. at Rogers Place. The rivalry games of the first week with Contining for the Oilers on Saturday, October 11th, as host of the Vancouver Canucks at 8 p.m.

The team will then take a trip with five games on the streets that take them to New York to visit the Rangers, islanders and New Jersey Devils before holding them in Detroit and Ottawa. On Thursday, October 23, you will return home for the always expected individual visit to the Montreal Canadiens.

The newly named Utah Mammoth will visit the Rogers Place on Tuesday, October 28th, and the first Stanley Cup crowd of the season between the Oilers and Panthers will be played in Florida on Saturday, November 22nd to complete Edmonton's season-high-game road trip in Edmonton.

Other marquee -Matchups are the Toronto Maple Leafs in Edmonton on Tuesday, February 3, on Thursday, March 19, on New Year's Eve and the Panthers in the city in the Boston Bruins.

The Maple Leafs visit the final of a househill at the height of the season, with the Oilers in Calgary playing in Calgary the following night before the Olympic break, which will take place from February 5th to 24th. Edmonton ends in February with a road trip with three games in California from Wednesday, February 25th in Anaheim.

The Oilers will complete the regular season on Monday, April 13, with a two-game home against the Colorado Avalanche and on Thursday, April 16.
