Highlights of the annual conference of Trorc 2025

The two regional commission of Flowsen-Ottauquechee (Trorc) on June 25, 2025, her annual conference 2025 left out outside of the Trorc offices in Woodstock, Vermont. The board, which consisted of representatives of our 30 member cities, was accompanied by the employees and parishioners of the Trorc for the election of officers, the announcement of scholarship prices and the recognition of our volunteer of the year.

Our committed leadership officers will continue their excellent service. Officials include Bill Emmons, Chairman (Pomfret); John Echeverria, Deputy Chairman (Criminal Code); Peter Berger, Treasurer (Fairlee); and Nancy Jones, secretary (Bradford). Brian Loeb (Norwich), Nancy Malmquist (West Fairlee) and Ken Alton (Business) will continue to act as members of the Executive Committee. We are grateful for your strategic findings and your commitment of the community.

Trorc was pleased to award ten 2,000 dollars to students who live in one of our 30 cities and pursue career and life decisions that were aligned with the vision and the values of lively, diverse and sustainable communities. A total of ten students were selected for this year's prize of the 23 applications that the scholarship committee received this year. We appreciate the support of Trorc commissioners for this investment.

This year, Trorc, the award of the volunteer of the year, was pleased to miss Delsie Hoyt from West Fairlee. Delsie was nominated by Community members for their commitment to the success of West Fairlees. Delsie serves as chairman of the Selectboard from West Fairlee, but bears many hats to ensure that the projects are completed, achieved goals and thrives on its community. Delsie received this award for an outstanding service in order to make our region a healthy and lively place to live, work and visit.

After the business meeting, Steve Taylor, the former agricultural commissioner in New Hampshire, spoke about the history of agriculture and its influence on the development of the region. His focus was on the Trorc region and the Upper Valley with connections to sheep magic.

We look forward to a whole year with regional plan updates, the direct urban assistant services for cities, the support of housing production and the continuation of our strong and varied work program that helps our cities safely, healthy and lively.
